Road Trip: 3 Southwest U.S. Cities

Nothing says carefree and adventurous quite like a road trip on a whim. Pack your things and fuel up for a few days of exploring Anaheim, California; Las Vegas, Nevada; and Flagstaff, Arizona. You’ll find a Vacation Ready resort in every city to rest and recharge.

Start In Anaheim, California

Where To Stay: Club Wyndham Anaheim, Club Wyndham Dolphin's Cove

Morning: Since you’re so close by, you might as well head to the Downtown Disney District. The Happiest Place on Earth needs no introductions, and you’re sure to find plenty of shopping and dining options for the whole family.

Afternoon: Get some fresh air at Yorba Regional Park. Pack a picnic and enjoy snacking under the California sun. Then hike or bike the meandering trails, which connect to the Santa Ana River Trail and lead all the way to Pacific Ocean 20 miles away.

Evening: There are over a dozen local breweries in Anaheim to taste your way around. All offering beer to-go, pick up a six pack of Anaheim 1888 from Anaheim Brewery, a variety of IPAs from Karl Strauss Brewing Company, or hard seltzers from Noble Ale Works to enjoy back at your suite.

Play In Las Vegas, Nevada

Where To Stay: Margaritaville Vacation Club by Wyndham - Desert Blue

Morning: Whether you wake up early or sleep in a few hours, you’ll be right on time for the best meal Las Vegas has to offer — brunch. Dine with a view at Beer Park, located on the rooftop of Paris Las Vegas, and enjoy a bottomless mimosa or Bloody Mary as you overlook the Bellagio Fountains show.

Afternoon: It’s still daylight, but then again, you’re in Sin City. Bounce around the different casinos at the Bellagio, Aria, and Caesars Palace, then pause for a relaxing gondola ride at The Venetian.

Evening: End the night with a spectacular ride on The Big Apple Coaster at New-York New-York or thrill rides at The Strat before treating yourself to a meal. Splurge at Cut by Wolfgang Puck or delight in burgers and shakes at Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer.

End In Flagstaff, Arizona

Where to Stay: Club Wyndham Flagstaff

Morning: Grab coffee and a snack at Tourist Home All Day Cafe in downtown Flagstaff, then head out for a day at the Grand Canyon National Park. Head to the South Rim and either drive the scenic roads or hike the Canyon Rim trail.

Afternoon: Meteor Crater, a mile-wide, 50,000-year-old crater, is the best-preserved meteorite impact site on Earth. Learn about the area’s geological history, then hike around the crater. On your way out, pick up some crystals and minerals as souvenirs.

Evening: Grab fresh Mexican fare at Agave Mexican Restaurant right off the Historic Route 66. Wash it down with a margarita before turning in for the night.
