This means you’ll start seeing large dispensers in your resort bathrooms for shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion, instead of the tiny plastic bottles used in the past. There are many reasons for making this change, beginning with your club’s commitment to sustainability, and the expectations of owners like you to see these sustainability practices in action. By doing our part to be environmentally responsible in reducing plastic waste, we ensure that less plastic goes into landfills and ultimately less plastic ends up in the world’s oceans.
This year has seen several states— New York and California among them — mandating the use of bulk bathroom amenities at hotels and resorts, and more states are expected to follow suit. In addition to complying with new regulations and reducing plastic waste, using bulk amenities is a cost-effective long-term option that is convenient for both owners and staff. Your club is not alone in this effort as many hotels and resorts worldwide are moving away from single-use bathroom amenities in favor of large bottles or dispensers.
